These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your use of the mobile app AutoScore for Soft-tip Darts and its game screen that you open on other devices (together, the “App”), provided by LifeWithDarts (“we”, “us”). By downloading or using the App, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

1. The App

The App uses your phone’s camera to detect where darts land on a 15.5-inch soft-tip dartboard and scores darts games automatically. The game screen can be shown on other devices on your Wi-Fi network.
The App works with many soft-tip boards, but some boards (for example single-colour boards), lighting conditions, board LEDs, camera positions and devices may not be supported or may reduce accuracy.

2. Scoring accuracy

Automatic scoring may sometimes be wrong or miss a dart. The App lets you check and correct scores. Scores, statistics and ratings in the App are for personal play and practice. They are not official results and are not linked to any other darts service or rating system. Please do not rely on the App where an exact result matters, such as in money games or official competitions.

3. Safety

Darts are sharp. Play in a safe place and keep people and pets out of the throwing area.
Place your phone, tripod and other devices where they cannot be hit by darts or knocked over, and where cables do not cause tripping. Follow the in-App placement guide.
Phones can get warm during long use. Stop using the App if your device becomes hot.

We are not responsible for injury or damage caused by darts, falling devices, or the way the equipment is set up, except as required by law.

4. Accounts

You can use the App without an account. Some features, such as keeping records and syncing between devices, require signing in with Google, Apple or an email link.
You are responsible for your account and for activity on it. Please keep access to your sign-in method secure.
You can delete your account at any time from Settings > Account in the App. Deleting your account deletes your cloud records and resets the data on your phone, and cannot be undone.

5. Free plan, paid plan and free trial

Free plan. The free plan includes a limited number of games per day and a limited set of games. The daily limit resets at 4:00 local time. Limits may change.
Paid plan. The paid plan is a monthly auto-renewing subscription (currently ¥390 per month, or the price shown in your store) that unlocks all games and features.
Free trial. New subscribers may get a free trial (currently 2 weeks). Unless you cancel before the trial ends, the subscription starts and you are charged.
Billing. Purchases are made and managed through the Apple App Store or Google Play. Payment, renewal, cancellation and refunds follow the store’s terms. The subscription renews automatically unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. You can cancel in your store account settings; deleting the App or your account does not cancel the subscription.
Price changes. If the price changes, you will be notified as required by the store before the new price applies.

6. Minors

If you are a minor, please use the App with the permission of a parent or guardian, and get their consent before purchasing a paid plan.

7. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

copy, modify, decompile, reverse-engineer or redistribute the App, except as allowed by law;
access our servers in ways not provided by the App, interfere with the service, or attempt to bypass usage limits or security measures;
use the App for unlawful purposes, or enter player names or other content that infringes others’ rights or is offensive;
point the camera at people or private spaces in a way that violates others’ privacy.

8. Contributed images

If you choose to join the optional image contribution program described in our Privacy Policy, you allow us to use the contributed images and related data, free of charge, to develop and improve the App’s scoring. You can stop contributing at any time in the App.

9. Intellectual property

The App, including its software, design, graphics, sounds and award movies, is owned by us or our licensors. We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the App on devices you own or control, under these Terms and the rules of the store you downloaded it from. Third-party software in the App is used under its own licence, listed in the App (Settings > About this app).

10. Changes and availability

We may update, change or stop features, games or the App. We try to keep the App available, but it may be interrupted for maintenance, failures, or reasons beyond our control. Online features depend on third-party services such as Google Firebase.

11. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or terminate access to online features if you seriously breach these Terms. You may stop using the App at any time.

12. Disclaimer and limitation of liability

The App is provided “as is”. To the extent permitted by law, we do not guarantee that the App is error-free, uninterrupted, or suitable for a particular purpose. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or incidental damages, or for loss of data such as game records. Where we are liable under applicable law, our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us for the App in the 12 months before the event. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under law, including under Japan’s Consumer Contract Act for damage caused by our intent or gross negligence.

13. Changes to these Terms

We may change these Terms when necessary. We will post the new version on this page and update the “Last updated” date. For significant changes, we will also notify you in the App. If you keep using the App after the changes take effect, you agree to the updated Terms.

14. Governing law and jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of Japan. Any dispute relating to the App or these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Tokyo District Court as the court of first instance, except where consumer protection law provides otherwise.
