This Privacy Policy explains how LifeWithDarts (“we”, “us”) handles information when you use the mobile app AutoScore for Soft-tip Darts (the “App”) and its game screen that you open on other devices. By using the App, you agree to this Policy.

1. Summary

The App scores darts using your phone’s camera. Camera images are processed on your device and are not sent to us, unless you choose to join the optional image contribution program (Section 4).
You can play without an account. If you sign in, we store your account and game records in the cloud so you can keep them and use them on other devices.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for advertising or cross-app tracking.
You can export your data and delete your account from inside the App at any time.

2. Information we collect

2.1 Information processed only on your device

Camera video. The App analyses the camera feed on your phone to detect where darts land. The video is not uploaded.
Microphone (optional). If you turn on voice score correction, the App listens using your device’s on-device speech recognizer. Audio is not recorded or sent to us. Only the recognised text is used, on your devices, to correct scores.
Local network. The App serves the game screen to devices on your own Wi-Fi network (for example a tablet or TV). This traffic stays within your local network.
Game records without an account. If you do not sign in, your players and game records stay on your phone. On the free plan they are not kept after a game unless you sign in.

2.2 Information stored in the cloud when you sign in

Account information: a user ID, your email address, and the sign-in method (Google, Apple, or email link). If you use “Hide My Email” with Apple, we receive Apple’s relay address instead of your real address.
Player names that you enter (optional, up to 16 characters).
Game records: game type and settings, scores, statistics, awards, dates, and dart positions on the board (in millimetres).
App settings such as the colour theme.
Plan status (free, trial, or paid). Payments are handled by Apple App Store or Google Play; we do not receive your payment card details.

2.3 Usage and diagnostic information

We may use Google Analytics for Firebase to understand, in aggregate, how the App is used (for example which games are played and which screens are opened) and to improve it. This information is linked to an app-instance identifier, not to your name. We will not combine it with data from other companies for advertising.

3. How we use information

To provide the App’s features: automatic scoring, game screens, records, statistics and ratings.
To keep your records in your account, sync them between your devices, and restore them when you sign in again.
To manage your plan and free trial.
To improve scoring accuracy and the App (aggregate usage data, and contributed images if you opt in).
To respond to your enquiries and to keep the service secure.

4. Optional image contribution program

To improve scoring accuracy, the App may ask whether you want to contribute images. Nothing is sent unless you agree. If you agree:

The App sends small, reduced images of the dartboard area around a throw, with technical data about that throw (for example the detected segment and whether you corrected it).
The images are linked to a random installation ID, not to your account, name or email address.
Please avoid having people or private items in view of the camera. If they appear in a contributed image, we do not use them for any purpose other than training the scoring model.
Images are kept on our cloud storage for up to 30 days and then moved to our own storage for model training, or deleted.
You can stop contributing at any time in the App’s settings.

5. Service providers and sharing

We do not sell or rent your information. We share it only with service providers that run the App for us, under their own privacy terms:

Google Firebase (Google LLC): authentication, database (Cloud Firestore), cloud storage, hosting and analytics. Our database is located in Tokyo, Japan; Google may process data in other countries as described in its terms.
Google Sign-In and Sign in with Apple: to sign you in, if you choose them.
Apple App Store and Google Play: to process purchases and subscriptions.

We may also disclose information when required by law, or to protect the rights and safety of users and the service.

6. Data retention

Account data and game records are kept while your account exists.
When you delete your account, your account and cloud records are deleted. The App also resets the data on your phone.
Contributed images: see Section 4.
Aggregate analytics data is kept according to our Google Analytics retention settings.

7. Your choices and rights

Export: Settings > Account > Export data creates a file with your account information, players and records.
Delete: Settings > Account > Delete account deletes your account and cloud data. You can also request deletion at https://lwd-dartsblog.com/afs-delete-your-account-and-data/ without the App.
Permissions: You can turn off camera, microphone and local network access in your device settings. Some features will not work without them.
Other requests: You may ask us to disclose, correct, or stop using your personal information, as allowed by applicable law (including Japan’s Act on the Protection of Personal Information). Contact us using Section 11.

8. Security

Data is sent over encrypted connections (HTTPS). Cloud data is protected by access rules so that only you can read and write your own account data. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your information.

9. Children

The App is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has given us personal information, please contact us and we will delete it. Minors should get a parent’s or guardian’s permission before purchasing a paid plan.

10. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy. We will post the new version on this page and change the “Last updated” date. If changes are significant, we will also notify you in the App.
