Darts Form Review is an app designed to record and playback your dart throwing motion for form checking and comparative analysis.
It features Delay Cam mode, which detects the sound of the dart hitting the board and automatically replays the throw; Burst Shots mode, which lets you compare the form of three consecutive throws as continuous sequence photos; and a Gallery where you can review your saved videos and sequence photos.
Introduction
Required Permissions
Upon first launch, you may be asked for the following permissions.
- Camera: Used to record your throwing form.
- Microphone: Used to detect the sound of the dart hitting the board.
- Photo Library / Photos App: Used to export saved videos to your device.
If you do not grant these permissions, some features will be unavailable. You can allow them later in your device’s settings app.
How to Position Your Device
The app is designed to be used in landscape orientation.
Please secure your smartphone or tablet horizontally so that your throwing motion is fully visible within the frame.
Recommended Setup:
- Use a tripod or stand to keep the device stable.
- Use the app in a quiet environment whenever possible.
Main Menu
The main menu consists primarily of the following items:
Delay Cam
A mode that detects the impact sound and automatically displays a replay immediately after your throw.
Use this when you want to check your form right on the spot.
Burst Shots
A mode that detects three consecutive throws and generates sequence photos for each throwing scene.
You can overlay the forms of the three throws or use skeletal tracking to check for differences in your movement.

Gallery
You can review saved Delay Cam mode videos and Burst Shots mode sequence photos.
You can filter by date or type, and compare multiple items.
Count Test
A feature to adjust the sensitivity of the impact sound detection.
Settings
You can configure the count interval, extraction range, watermarks, and more.

How to Use Delay Cam Mode
Delay Cam mode automatically replays your form by detecting the sound of the dart hitting the board.
Basic Steps
- Open Delay Cam mode from the main menu.
- Position your device so that your throwing form is visible.
- Switch between the front and rear cameras as needed.
- Throw your darts.
- When an impact sound is detected, the count on the screen will advance.
- Once the specified number of throws is detected, the app automatically switches to the replay screen.
- Check your form in the replay.
Main On-Screen Buttons
Front / Rear
Switches between the front and rear cameras.
Sensitivity
Adjusts the sensitivity of the impact sound detection.
- Increase the number: Makes it easier to detect softer sounds
- Decrease the number: Makes it easier to detect only louder sounds
If there are many false detections, lower the sensitivity.
If it fails to detect impacts, raise the sensitivity.
Reset
Resets the detection count.
Use this if a false detection occurs.
Analyze
Displays grids, guide lines, etc. on the screen.
Some Analyze features are limited to the Pro version.
Loop
Toggles replay looping on and off.
Hide
Hides the on-screen buttons.
Useful when you want to view the footage in a larger size without distractions.
Replay Screen
On the replay screen, you can playback your recorded throws to check your form.
Main Operations:
- Speed: Change the playback speed
- Save: Save the replay video to the in-app Gallery
- Analyze: Display grids and guide lines
- Loop: Repeat playback
Videos saved to the Gallery can be reviewed later or exported to your device’s Photos app.
How to Use Burst Shots Mode
Burst Shots mode captures three throws and generates a sequence of photos for each throw.
This is highly useful for comparing form consistency and observing differences between the three throws.

Basic Steps
- Open Burst Shots from the main menu.
- Position your device so that your throwing form is visible.
- Tap Start.
- Throw three darts.
- Once three impact sounds are detected, the generation of sequence photos will begin automatically.
- After generation is complete, check your form on the results screen.
Generation may take some time depending on your device’s performance and the recording duration.
Please do not close the app while processing.
How to Read the Results Screen
Shot 1 / Shot 2 / Shot 3
Switch between and view the sequence photos for each throw.
All Shots
Overlays all three throws.
You can visually confirm form deviations and differences in movement.
Swipe Left / Right
Move forward or backward through the sequence photos frame-by-frame.
You can closely examine your form before and after the dart hits the board.
Play
Plays the sequence photos like a video.
Playback may not be available while viewing All Shots.
Speed
Adjusts the playback speed.
Track
Displays skeletal tracking.
Visualizes points such as the wrists, elbows, shoulders, hips, and ankles, allowing you to trace the trajectory of your movements.
Analyze
Displays grids, lines, and markers for form analysis.
Burst Shots Settings
In the Burst Shots settings, you can adjust the extraction range before and after the impact.
Extraction Start (Before)
Sets how many seconds before the impact to start generating sequence photos.
Extraction End (After)
Sets how many seconds after the impact to stop generating sequence photos.
If you want to view the entire motion from the take-back to the release, set a longer Extraction Start time.
How to Use the Gallery
In the Gallery, you can review your saved Delay Cam mode videos and Burst Shots mode sequence photos.
Checking Saved Data
- Open the Gallery from the main menu.
- Select the item you want to view from the list.
- Play and review the video or sequence photos.
Display Options
You can organize the Gallery display using the following options:
- Filter by date
- Filter by Delay / Burst Shots
- Show favorites only
- Sort by newest / oldest
Notes
You can add notes to saved items.
Recording your practice focus, key points you were conscious of, or the dart setup used makes it easier to look back later.
Comparison Mode
Select multiple items to compare them side-by-side.
By comparing 2 to 3 items, you can check day-to-day form differences and areas for improvement.
* The comparison feature is a Pro version feature.
Save to Device Photos App
Videos in the Gallery can be exported to your device’s Photos app.
This requires permission to access your photo library.
Analyze Feature
Analyze is a feature that overlays auxiliary lines on videos or sequence photos to help check your form.

Some features are limited to the Pro version.
How to Use
- Tap Analyze on the Delay Cam or Burst Shots screen.
- Select the analysis tool you wish to use.
- Drag the displayed lines or markers to adjust their positions.
- If no longer needed, remove them using Clear or Clear All.
Skeletal Tracking
Skeletal tracking is available on the Burst Shots results screen.
Examples of trackable points:
- Wrists
- Elbows
- Shoulders
- Hips
- Ankles
- Knees
- Face (Nose)
- Fingertips
In the tracking menu, you can toggle the display of individual points, adjust the color of skeletal lines, trace lines, and apply a white filter.
This is useful for checking form sway, the angle of your arm at release, and overall body mechanics.
Settings
In Settings, you can adjust the overall behavior of the app.
Count Interval
This is a cooldown period to prevent duplicate counts of continuous sounds.
If you experience many false detections, set this to a longer duration.
Extraction Start (Before)
Sets how many seconds before the impact to capture video for Delay Cam replays and Burst Shots generation.
Extraction End (After)
Sets how many seconds after the impact to stop capturing video.
Watermark
Configures whether to display the app logo on the video.
The Pro version allows you to toggle the watermark display.
Language
Changes the display language.

Troubleshooting Detection Issues
Impact Sounds Not Detected
Please check the following:
- Is microphone access allowed?
- Is the device too far from the dartboard?
- Is the surrounding environment too noisy?
- Increase the Sensitivity.
- Readjust the sensitivity using the Count Test.
Too Many False Detections
Please try the following:
- Decrease the Sensitivity.
- Lengthen the count interval.
- Reduce surrounding conversations and noises.
- Place the device in a location less prone to vibration.
Video Orientation is Incorrect
Long-press on the recording screen to reacquire the camera orientation.
Replay Timing is Off
Adjust the following in Settings:
- Extraction Start (Before)
- Extraction End (After)
- Count Interval
- Sensitivity
If you want to see the motion right before the impact, set a longer Extraction Start (Before) time.

Q. In which orientation should I use the app?
A. Please use your device in landscape mode. The app is designed exclusively for horizontal use.
Q. Can I only use it in a quiet place?
A. Detection accuracy drops in noisy environments. While it may work with appropriate sensitivity settings, we recommend starting in a quiet environment.
Q. Can I use both the front and rear cameras?
A. You can switch between the front and rear cameras using the Front / Rear button.
Q. Where can I view my saved data?
A. You can check it from the in-app Gallery. Videos can also be saved to your device’s Photos app.
Q. Burst Shots generation takes a long time.
A. Extracting sequence photos and processing tracking data may take time. Please do not close the app while it is processing.
